As Emms grows we look to employ new drivers from 7.5 tonne to full Class 1 C+E status. The job will vary depending on the type of vehicle you are licensed to drive, ranging from general road transport deliveries to UK wide container shipments. Whatever the job, you will be required to spend nights away from home sleeping in your truck. It can be like camping without putting up the tent! So if you don't like camping and want to be home every night think again!!! When you are time expired for the day you must stop.
Nights out are part of the job. However for every night spent in the lorry you are allowed a tax free over night payment in addition to your salary. This can substantially increase your net income. Our Articulated Vehicles are large spacious and comfortable. Many of our fleet have double bunk full sleeper cabs, so large you can stand up in them. Lots have air conditioning for hot days and air suspension for a smooth ride.
Rates of pay vary depending on the type of vehicle the driver is licensed for. Our wage bands are attractive fair and competitive.
Vehicle Engineer / Fitter
Occasionally positions arise in our fully equiped maintenance workshops. This involves pre-MOT test work and repairing our Trucks and trailers. Depending on your capabilities, training is given to ensure that your standard meets OUR HIGH standard of service and repair. Generic hours of operation are 8am till 6pm weekday and 8am till 12 noon Saturday. Overtime is readily available and the wage bands are attractive. Extra benefits are offered to our Maintenance team increasing with length of service.
